What if your constraints became free? Chris Anderson proposes this in a speech to Nokia as an intellectual challenge when looking at the future.
- When computer processing cost went to zero we got usable graphical user interfaces. This allowed the average person to use a computer.
- When bandwidth cost went to zero we got person to person entertainment (no need to broadcast TV). This provides people with customized entertainment.
- When storage went to zero we got ?? infinite storage email. We need to wait for these implications.
So Chris challenges us to look at our own businesses. What are the constraints? What if those constraints went to zero cost? How would you do things differently?
